New Patients
First-timer or old-hand, we welcome you
We see many new patients who have never had acupuncture before. We welcome the opportunity to introduce you to the benefits of what we do. We also see many patients who have had acupuncture in the past but prefer our gentle, professional approach.
We look forward to helping you too.
Appointments
To make an appointment or to ask how we can help you, please call 9223 4777. You can also send us an email. We are open Monday to Friday. Our first appointment time is 9am, and our last appointment time is 6pm. However, we may take appointments outside these hours – please ask.
Arrival Time & Treatment Duration
For your first appointment we ask you to arrive 5-10 minutes early to fill out a medical history form, or download it here, complete it and bring it to your appointment.
We advise allowing between one and one-and-a-half hours for your initial visit. If you are pressed for time, please inform us on arrival and we will adjust the length of treatment accordingly.
For your subsequent visits we recommend you allow 45 minutes to one hour.
If you are running late, we appreciate a quick courtesy phone call as it will affect appointments following yours.
Your Initial Consultation
We take the time to discuss your health conditions. We will ask about relevant aspects of your health such as your sleep, energy levels, digestion, aches and pains, bowel and urination habits, emotional state, and for women there will be questions regarding the menstrual cycle.
Following Nicole’s health assessment, a treatment plan will be suggested for you which will detail the approximate number and frequency of visits required in order for you to achieve your health goals.
The initial consultation will then be followed by an acupuncture treatment, and if required, your herbal prescription will be prepared.
Acupuncture Treatment
There is a general misconception that acupuncture is always painful. It isn’t! We use gentle treatments and smooth super-fine needles to make our acupuncture as painless as possible. Many of our patients are surprised how pain-free and relaxing our acupuncture can be.
Depending on your condition, a range of other therapeutic techniques may be used in your treatment, such as remedial massage, electroacupuncture, cupping, and moxibustion. These are performed in conjunction with your usual acupuncture treatment and attract no extra cost.
We ensure your comfort and privacy at all times. We carefully monitor you throughout the treatment to ensure your comfort is maintained throughout your visit.
Herbal Medicine
When used in combination, acupuncture and herbal medicine form the most effective treatment strategy. If herbal medicine is appropriate for your health condition, this will be discussed with you during your consultation.
Prepare Your Body for Treatment
To get the most out of your treatment, we prefer that you do not arrive at your appointment hungry or thirsty. This is because acupuncture works with the body’s energy, so you need a good supply for us to work with – some petrol in the tank, so to speak.
No other preparation is necessary – just come as you are.
What if I need to cancel?
We take pride in running a professional clinic and offering our patients the highest quality care possible.
We understand that at times it may be difficult to keep your appointment. All we ask is that you provide us with at least 24 hours notice if you are unable to attend. This way we can accommodate other patients who also require treatment.
For repeated short-notice cancellations or missed appointments we reserve the right to charge you the full appointment fee.
